What is Video Conversion?
Although VHS video tapes are used worldwide it does not guarantee playback compatability. Different parts of the world use different TV video formats for broadcast, recording and playback.
Listed below are some of the different video formats used in the world today. They all use the VHS video cassette system.
- NTSC - Canada, USA, Mexico, Japan
- PAL - United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, China
- PAL-M - Brazil
- MESECAM - Russia (parts of former Soviet Union)

Who Needs Video Conversion?
Conversion is needed if video content recorded in one country is to be played back in a country that uses a different video format. Some uses for video conversion can be sending home video to family and friends living abroad. Purchasing movies from foreign countries not available in your home country to be converted and viewed in your country. Businesses may desire to use video conversion by packaging video presentations for clients in other parts of the world. Schools may used video conversion for educational exchanges with schools in other countries.
